King Salman Academy Launches Platform Called Siwar for Linguistic Dictionaries

The King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language has launched a new platform called Siwar, dedicated to publishing, composing, and managing linguistic dictionaries.

Siwar utilizes the latest scientific methodologies in Arabic lexicography and offers a range of features for both users and lexicographers. Users can conduct advanced searches and access over 180,000 entries from 10 currently available dictionaries. Lexicographers benefit from functionalities like complete control over the authoring process, including adding team members, managing tasks, and generating user statistics. The platform also allows users to suggest new terminology for inclusion, fostering a collaborative environment for dictionary development.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Washmi, secretary-general of the academy, announced plans to launch another platform within two months, specializing in scientific terminology. This initiative will be undertaken in collaboration with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization.

Siwar is designed to be user-friendly and offers a well-organized interface, aiming to enhance the lexical abilities of those who access it. Dr. Al-Washmi stated their ambition for Siwar to become “the first gate for specialists to reach linguistic information.”

This launch signifies the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language’s commitment to promoting and preserving the Arabic language through innovative technological solutions.tunesharemore_vert
