Kuwait and UK Celebrate Longstanding Ties and Look Towards the Future at Investment Conference

A major investment conference launched in London on Tuesday to commemorate 125 years of diplomatic relations between Kuwait and the UK, alongside the 70th anniversary of the Kuwait Investment Office opening in the British capital.

The conference brought together high-level officials from both nations, including Kuwaiti Minister of Finance Dr. Anwar Al-Mudhaf and UK State Minister for Business and Trade Dominic Johnson. Discussions focused on bolstering financial ties, celebrating the longstanding partnership, and exploring opportunities in the realms of technology and digital innovation.

This event comes amidst a period of positive developments in the relationship between the two countries. Recent efforts have seen improvements in travel procedures and a significant surge in bilateral trade, exceeding £5.7 billion ($7.23 billion) between March 2022 and March 2023. Additionally, UK exports to Kuwait have witnessed a notable rise of 33% in the past year.

The conference marks a significant step forward in strengthening the partnership between Kuwait and the UK, paving the way for continued collaboration and exploration of new opportunities in the years to come.
