Nobel laureate economist Muhammad Yunus is expected to make his return to Bangladesh on Thursday, according to a report by the Dhaka Tribune. Yunus is set to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on an Emirates flight from Dubai at 2.10 pm, provided the flight is on schedule.

Yunus’s return to Bangladesh is highly anticipated as he is poised to take on a significant role as the head of the interim government. This follows a recent meeting with President Mohammed Shahabuddin. It has been confirmed that Yunus will assume this pivotal position, pending the official oath-taking ceremony.

As per Nahid Islam, a coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, the oath-taking ceremony is scheduled to occur the day after Yunus’s arrival.
